In 2016 Jacqueline and Charlie set out to give back to their community through real estate. They entertained several different business models, but nothing seemed to fit.
In 2018, while volunteering at the hospital, Jacqueline met a homeless Veteran, and the need for housing for homeless Vets in the Reno area became an obvious, immediate, and committed area of focus for the duo. After meeting with The Department of Housing and Urban Development, they learned there are over 330 homeless Veterans in the Reno metropolitan area. While there is housing assistance available for this population, HUD and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) often have a hard time finding landlords that will accept their housing vouchers, as they tend to pay below market monthly rates.
Learning of this need was an eyeopening experience which is the foundation of everything Homeward Bound NV strives to do. Jacqueline and Charlie have committed to dedicate every dollar of every real estate transaction they facilitate back into their business, to provide desperately needed housing for this well deserving population.
